Sarah & Colton {nearly married}

Wedding Bells will be ringing for this fabulous couple this weekend.
I am honored to attend these festivities held at this amazing location:  Coyland Creek in Frederic WI.

I was privileged to photograph this sweet couple last year at Pot Hole Pass Taylors falls.  We got to play at the “big kids playground” and a little get-to-know you information was exchanged.  All-in-all a perfect way to spend an afternoon.  It’s crazy to think after nearly a full year of waiting, the moment is nearly upon us!  EEeekkk.

As I’m preparing my final shots and going over a huge list of details for the big day, I am reflecting on what brought “us” together.  Photographer and couple.

As a wedding photographer, it is important to create a comfortable connection.  I find it important to ask my clients a few simple questions starting with this: “Describe the theme of your wedding in 4 words.”

Sometimes I get a look of confusion & a long awkward silence; I’d like to think  of it as a moment of reflection.  Trust me, this is not a trick question, but rather a starting point for us.  So when Sarah replied with glitter, garden, simple beauty I knew we would fit together like peaches & cream.

My first question is usually followed by, “Describe your photography style”.  What do you like when you see a photograph?  Both Sarah and Colton looked at each other and in unison said “Candid & real moments.”   YES!!!! ONE MILLION TIMES!

As a fly on the wall photographer, my main objective is to blend in and catch moments that often get overlooked.  It’s all about the details.  Of course there are so many more questions to ask, I will spare you the details.

I’d like to share with you the soon-to-be- Mr & Mrs! T-minus 3 days and counting

Sarah & Colton.
